Cuffs vs. Hoses

The game was Holbrook Police Department (HPD) vs. the Holbrook Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD) & Holbrook Emergency Medical Support (HEMS). Cuffs vs. Hoses banded together playing a best two out of three, first annual, softball tournament. This was in an effort to raise money for the local Little League baseball association, that was recently affected by Covid-19 that prevented them from their regular fund raising events.

The event started at 12 PM and ended approximately by 9 PM. During the event, we had 25-30 mph winds, with gusts up to 40 mph. The weather took out many of the planned events such as: the bounce house, ring toss, balloon darts, and knock the can. The softball games continued as scheduled, starting at 6 PM and the first match was decided with HVFD and HEMS winning over HPD. Around 6:30 PM it started to rain on and off throughout the evening. By the second game, the winner was decided: HVFD and HEMS won the night and a trophy donated by VIP Awards sits proudly in the HVFD station #3. Until the next Cuffs vs. Hoses game, where we shall see if HVFD and HEMS can keep their title, or if HPD will take the title and the glory.

The night ended with $1,000 from the event, and Unisource donated $1,500. The event earned $2,500 for Holbrook Little League Baseball.

The Little League was able to lower fees from $65 to $20.
